Welding.

A skid plate for my motorcycle that is still seeing service to this day! Though they may not be pretty, the welds are strong with no cracks and was a great learning experience for me welding aluminum plate.

I think it's important to say that I am not a pedigree Weldor by any means. I have ruined half as many parts as I have made tig welding! But with the failures comes learning. With my current setup I can do just about any sort of metal. For now, I play with a lot of steel and aluminum. I also have access to more common welders like stick and MIG but those don't interest me as much. Perhaps it's the masochist in me or the dream of maybe one day laying dimes as beautiful as the ones I see on instagram.

A welded flower out of thin sheet metal. With my beginnings in stick welding. It impresses me to see how thin tig is able to go without making a mess of things.
